Jennie Shares Her Family Story for the First Time on “You Quiz”: Even Yoo Jae-suk Was Surprised
BLACKPINK’s Jennie is set to touch hearts with an unprecedented personal revelation on episode 292 of tvN’s You Quiz on the Block, airing on May 7.
Alongside fascinating guests—Jocelyn Clark, the first foreign master of the gayageum in Korea, and Lee Ji-seop, known for training hornets—Jennie returns fresh from her legendary Coachella stage to sit down with Yoo Jae-suk and Jo Se-ho.
Jennie will unveil behind-the-scenes stories from her 50-minute live set at Coachella, where she performed 13 songs without a single outfit change. She also shares the emotional story behind her now-famous “I love you, Mom” ending message, which brought both her and her mother to tears.
For the first time ever, Jennie talks about her family background—including childhood anecdotes from her time in New Zealand and the personal struggles she faced during her six years as a YG trainee. Yoo Jae-suk, a long-time friend of Jennie, remarked during filming “I’ve never heard this story before”, visibly moved by her candidness.
Jennie delves into the human side of superstardom, revealing the emotional exhaustion that came from her meteoric rise as a BLACKPINK member and the lack of time to care for herself. She also talks about the transition to her current role as a CEO and teases BLACKPINK’s reunion project set for July, discussed here for the first time.
